Welcome to Dallas, Texas

Dallas is located in North Texas and is the center of the largest metropolitan area in the Southern U.S., the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.  It is the county seat of Dallas County, covers 386 square miles, and extends into Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties. This geographic spread creates a sense of connection with the surrounding suburbs. Education

Dallas Independent School District (DISD) serves over 150,000 students in 230 schools, making it one of Texas’s largest public school systems.

Two of the district schools earned National Blue Ribbon School awards in 2023. DISD high schools are among the top 10% of Texas high schools, according to U.S. News & World Report in 2023. Additionally, 18 Dallas ISD high schools earned high national rankings, with nine schools ranking in the top 50 in Texas.

The Dallas Park System is one of the largest in the nation, with 410 parks totaling over 21,109 acres. The award-winning Dallas Trail Plan has over 180 miles of beautiful and diverse hike and bike trails.

White Rock Lake is an over 1,000-acre lake just five miles northeast of downtown Dallas. It’s a popular park and the preferred location for many special events and runs.

Bachman Lake is near Love Field Airport and is perfect for family gatherings and a 5k run.

  • North Park Center is the premier shopping destination in Dallas, featuring over 200 retailers. Here, you’ll find luxury boutiques, trendy brands, a variety of restaurants, and even movie theaters.
