For a relocation destination, Prosper offers a country atmosphere with city conveniences.

Prosper — true to its name — has prospered in recent years, growing quickly in terms of new home construction priced from $400,000 to $2,000,000 + range. As of 2000, there were 2,097 people; the current population is around 37,700.

Prosper was recently named in “D” Magazine Best Suburbs List as the 5th Best Suburb in the Dallas Metropolitan Area.

EDUCATION

The Prosper Independent School District was rated as “Recognized” by the Texas Educational Agency in 2011. The district has nine elementary, two middle, and one high school.

PARKS & RECREATION

Prosper Parks & Recreation provides active and passive opportunities in the midst of the town’s natural beauty.

There are 18 parks on over 350 acres of open space, including lighted sports venues. Prosper has over 22 miles of biking and walking trails.

The city has been recognized as the “Healthiest Small Community in Texas” by the It’s Time Texas Foundation in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

SHOPPING

Prosper is no longer considered a small rural town with limited access to retail shopping. Widening Preston Road to Frisco, and 380 to McKinney, now gives easy access to abundant shopping and services.

With the Dallas Tollway on the south side of Prosper, even more, shopping and recreational opportunities are simplified — residents commute all the way into downtown Dallas.
